Parent Child Nature Explorers

Service Description

Join us Tuesday mornings for our 8 week Parent/Child Nature Explorer enrichment program. This unique enrichment nature class is available for all children between ages of 3-6. Classes are intended to be small group (no more than 10 families) and will focus on exploring the Earth's seasons through intentional multi-sensory nature exploration and creation. Children and caregivers will expand their senses in a unique nature based setting as we journey through nature's seasons, exploring on a 1acre garden and homestead. Children will have hands on opportunities to care for the garden, harvest plants and learn ways to use the plants in for cooking or crafting. Children will practice skills to support their motor skill and sensory development through enriching hands on nature themed arts and crafts. In the Big Oak Mud kitchen, children will connect deeper with their peers and their sensory systems through seasonal open-ended play with mud, water and nature based loose parts. (Younger siblings are welcome to attend but specialty craft materials will only be available for paying students) This class is facilitated by Jamie Cruz, a pediatric Occupational Therapist and owner of StepOutside OT. Each class is uniquely designed to fit the needs of the attendees in the class.
